Experience 3 of Ohio's finest lodging establishments in one tour !!! Monday-check in at the White Oak Inn at Danville. Tucked into a peaceful valley on the Kososing River, the White Oak Inn is close to Kenyon College,the Bridge of Dreams, and the Kososing Gap trail. Have dinner in their well known restaurant with menus including some of their treasured family recipes. Tuesday. morning after breakfast and check out, you will be given a map to Holmes County Amish Country. You may wish to make a few stops at places such as Bowden Bells, Treaty Line Pottery, or Prairie Lane Furniture. When you arrive in Amish Country you will check into the Garden Gate Getaway Bed& Breakfast, where you will spend the night.Your Innkeepers will map out directions to visit places of interest, such as an Amish candle maker, Amish furniture, and antiques stores, a cheese factory, country crafts, and gift shops. They can also make dinner reservations for you.In the evening you can unwind at their nightly campfire and visit with other guests. Sit on a glider rocker and enjoy their gardens as well. Wednesday: we will give you a map to your next destination:The Olde World Bed & Breakfast and Tea Room. Along the way you may wish to stop in Walnut Creek at Colblentz Chocolate Factory, or Heini's new Gourmet Cheese Market in Sugarcreek. Sample cheese, gourmet food and wine all made in Ohio. Just east of Heini's is Ohio's second largest winery Breitenbach, and next door is Broad Run Cheese factory, one of the few left that still make cheese by hand. Just a 3 miles down the road you will come to the Olde World Bed and Breakfast and Tea Room. Olde World B&B was a brick Italianate farmhouse, built in 1881. The first thing you will notice when you enter this Victorian-style B&B is the grand walnut staircase and four-panel doors with ornamental hinges that give the place a feeling of elegance. We will have reservations at 12:30 pm for a 4-course High Tea. Menus are created from scratch in their kitchen with local ingredients, and fresh herbs and vegetables from their gardens. After lunch you will be given two tickets to the famous Warther Carving Museum and Knife Factory. This is an amazing tour, with a great human interest story. Visit Mrs. Warthers Button House onsite as well, filled with a collection of antique buttons,and their beautiful perennial gardens. After your tour explore more of the area, or just relax at the Olde World B&B. Sit on the deck that overlooks the countryside and their pond,waterfall and perennial gardens. Relax in the private hot tub in a cabin that allows you to see the night sky. Homemade chocolate chip cookies will be there to snack on in the evening. Enjoy a hot gourmet breakfaston thursday morning, before checking out and heading home.
